More Space Without Leaving the Home You Love
When you love your neighborhood and your property but your home no longer gives you the space you need, a thoughtfully planned home addition can provide a completely different way forward.
Pro Builders and Design provides professional home addition construction throughout San Diego and the Bay Area, helping homeowners expand their properties with new bedrooms, primary suites, family rooms, offices, kitchen expansions, second stories, and other custom living spaces.
With more than 20 years of construction and remodeling experience, we understand that an addition needs to do more than create extra square footage. It should function naturally with the existing home and feel like it was always meant to be there.
Our team brings together thoughtful planning, experienced construction, quality craftsmanship, and clear communication to help homeowners create the space their lives require today and for years to come.
INSPIRED BY VISION. BUILT WITH PRECISION. FINISHED WITH CARE.
Our portfolio reflects decades of experience creating homes and spaces with thoughtful design, dependable craftsmanship, and attention to every detail.
Create the Space Your Home Has Been Missing
Every family needs something different from their home. For some, it’s another bedroom. For others, it’s a larger kitchen, private primary suite, dedicated office, or an entirely new second floor.
Our home addition contractors help homeowners explore practical ways to increase living space while considering how the new area will connect with the existing home.
Bedroom & Primary Suite Additions
Create additional private living space with a new bedroom or a complete primary suite that can include a bathroom, closets, and other personalized features.
Family & Living Room Additions
Give everyone more room to gather with a larger family room, living area, entertainment space, or multipurpose room.
Kitchen Expansions
Expand a cramped kitchen to create additional workspace, storage, seating, and room for family and guests. Explore our Kitchen Remodeling services for more kitchen renovation possibilities.
Second-Story Additions
When expanding outward isn’t the preferred option, adding another level may provide substantial new living space while working within the property’s existing footprint.
Home Office Additions
Create a dedicated workspace designed for privacy, productivity, storage, and the way you work from home.
Custom Room Additions
Need something different? We can help develop a custom addition around your property, existing floor plan, lifestyle, and long-term goals.
For homeowners still determining the best layout or direction, our Design & Plans services can help turn an initial idea into a more clearly defined project.
Quality Work. Happy Clients. Beautiful Results.

One Team to Bring the Entire Project Together
Home additions are complex construction projects because new construction must integrate correctly with an existing structure.
Depending on the project, this can involve structural modifications, foundation work, framing, roofing, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, drywall, flooring, windows, doors, cabinetry, exterior finishes, and interior details.
Pro Builders and Design coordinates the different phases of the project with an emphasis on organization, craftsmanship, and communication.
For additions that include a new bathroom or primary suite, our experience with Bathroom Remodeling helps us create functional bathrooms with thoughtful layouts, storage, tile, fixtures, and finishes.
If expanding the home changes patios, walkways, landscaping, or other exterior areas, our Hardscape & Landscape services can help bring the surrounding property back together.
The objective isn’t simply to build another room. It’s to create an addition that improves how the entire home works.
New Space That Feels Like Part of the Original Home
One of the most important parts of a successful home addition is how the new construction connects to the existing house.
A well-designed addition should consider much more than square footage. Rooflines, ceiling heights, windows, exterior materials, flooring transitions, lighting, circulation, structural connections, and architectural details can all influence whether the finished addition feels cohesive.
Our goal is to create new living space that complements the character of your home rather than looking or feeling unnecessarily disconnected from it.
Inside, we consider how people will naturally move between existing and new areas. Outside, we consider how the addition changes the appearance and functionality of the property.
If your project involves updating the existing house along with the new addition, explore our Whole Home Renovation services.
For homeowners considering an entirely new residence rather than expanding an existing one, our New Construction services offer a ground-up approach.
